Each year, Trinity College participates in Queensland Debating Union’s competition.
Teams from Year levels represent the College at a series of debates run at high schools in the region. Each team has at least one coach to support them in preparing their scripts and developing their skills. Debating is a proven way to extend many skills, vital to many careers and life situations, as well as improving academic success. The Queensland syllabus requires a significant proportion of oral presentations as part of both Junior and Senior English. Debating also demands a raised awareness of current events and general knowledge which are important in QCS exams for tertiary entry.
