Our aspiring athletes recently welcomed Brisbane Lions player Lincoln McCarthy, who shared his journey from growing up in a small country town to playing more than 150 AFL games.
Lincoln spoke openly about the sacrifices made by his family, friends and support network, as well as the resilience and determination required to overcome long-term injuries and reach the elite level.
His message about embracing setbacks, staying positive and continuing to work towards personal goals resonated strongly with students across their academic, sporting and personal lives.
