Trinity College Beenleigh is celebrating a rising star, with Year 7 student Ava Asiata successfully auditioning for Channel 9's upcoming television show, Children's Improv.
Ava credits her Drama teacher with helping her take the first steps into the world of improvisation.
“I was given the opportunity to audition, and I was encouraged to do so by my drama teacher, Ms Marosszeky ," Ava said.
“I just like giving things a go; it's what I love."
New to improv, Ava first discovered a passion for the art during her very first term at
Trinity College, when it was introduced in her Drama classes. Since then, she has embraced every opportunity to step outside her comfort zone.
The audition process for Children's Improv was both demanding and competitive. Ava not only made it through to the final round but was thrilled to learn she'd been selected for the show.
“I went out there and I was myself," she said of her final audition.
“I called my grandparents straight away—I was really excited."
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Ava, who has shown courage, passion, and determination in taking on something new with the support of her school community.
“This is the first thing I've done. I'm really proud of myself. It's something that I really love to do, and to have this wonderful opportunity—it is very exciting."
