TRINITY COLLEGE BEENLEIGH has officially opened a new facility, a Hermitage Design Hub that Principal Allison Elcoate describes as “more than just a building” – a space that stands as a tribute to the school’s Marist heritage.
“This building is more than just a facility, it is a tribute to our Marist heritage, inspired by the original Hermitage built by Saint Marcellin Champagnat,” Mrs Elcoate says,
“This is a place of practicality and invention. We honour that legacy by opening a space that empowers our students to design, create, and to innovate."
"May this space be blessed with wisdom, creativity, and community; and may it continue to inspire generations of Trinity students to lead with faith, courage, and compassion.”
The event was attended by special guests including Michael Crandon MP, Member for Coomera, Melissa McMahon, Member for Macalister, and Leigh Williams, Education and Digital Excellence Executive from Brisbane Catholic Education, representing Executive Director Dr Sally Towns.
Trinity College also welcomed Fr Jerry Joseph, Parish Priest and representative of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Curtis Goode, Manager of Planning and Facilities at Brisbane Catholic Education, Allison Jefferies, Senior Leader from Brisbane Catholic Education, Gillian Corsan, Admin Support Officer, and Kevin Billion, Principal of St Joseph’s Tobruk Memorial School.
A particularly special moment was the acknowledgment of former staff members Mr Chris Raju and Merrin Owen. Mr Raju, a former Principal of Trinity College, was praised for his vision and leadership that laid the foundation for the facility, while Ms Owen, former Business Manager, was recognised for her dedication and financial stewardship that helped bring the project to life.
The opening marks a significant milestone for the college, further enhancing opportunities for students to engage in creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning in a space that reflects the values of the Marist tradition.
